Scholastic Book Fair Nov. 9-21The Scholastic Book Fair is here! Parents, grandparents, guardians, and anyone else who wants to shop are welcome to visit the book fair during school hours, from 7:30 until 2:30. The track meet that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 23 at New Century has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Reid Ross Classical.

DBMS will celebrate Spirit Week this week (Oct. 22-26)

Monday – Superhero Day – Students may wear a shirt that represents their favorite Superhero.
Tuesday – Team Tuesday – Students may wear a shirt or jersey of their favorite team.
Wednesday – Wacky Sock Wednesday – Students may wear crazy socks with their school uniform.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday – Students may wear a shirt that epitomizes their favorite decade.
Friday – It’s All About That Burgundy and Gold – Students may wear jeans and a DBMS, burgundy, or gold top.

Students must wear their uniform pants Monday through Thursday. Friday, if a student does not wear a DBMS, burgundy, or gold shirt, the student should be in full uniform. Hats, face painting, and offensive/vulgar clothing are not allowed any day.

The first Battle of the Books meeting will be Tuesday, October 16, in the library right after school until 4:00 p.m.  We will go over guidelines for the group and decide who will read which books. Please make sure all students are picked up no later than 4:00 p.m.

The Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is working closely with Cumberland County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service to monitor the path of Hurricane Michael.

Gov. Roy Cooper has declared a State of Emergency ahead of Hurricane Michael. Based on this information along with current weather projections, a decision has been made to close Cumberland County Schools on Thursday, October 11, 2018 for all students and staff.

We will continue to monitor and provide additional information if needed.
